Job Description:

We are seeking a senior-level Electrical Engineer with 8+ years’ experience in the building design industry. As part of our multi-disciplinary design firm, our Electrical Engineers are responsible for designing lighting, power and low-voltage systems on a variety of projects. Design Collaborative’s Electrical Engineers analyze and develop electrical systems for construction projects and provide the technical expertise necessary to bring architectural and engineering concepts to life, from the design phase all the way through construction administration. Additionally, our Electrical Engineers push the envelope in the more conceptual, aesthetic world that is lighting design. Whether it is measuring the ergonomic effects of a lighting scheme or researching the latest concepts in energy management, their ability to see beyond presented information and get to the best solution sets them apart.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design lighting, power and low-voltage systems on a variety of projects
  • Analyze and develop electrical systems for construction projects
  • Provide technical expertise to bring architectural and engineering concepts to life from design through construction administration
  • Participate in client and project team meetings bringing creative solutions
  • Where applicable, establish preliminary project scope, budget, and schedule
  • Involvement in field surveys of existing systems, and review and monitoring of installation and construction
  • Represent DC at job site visits and communicate with contractors / subs / owners effectively
  • Clearly understand and articulate systems
  • Capable of evaluation, selection and application of standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Writing design narratives & engineering analysis
  • Lead, teach, coach, and develop assigned team of engineers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or BSArchE, ABET Accredited Program
  • 8+ years post-graduate experience in the A/E industry is required
  • 2+ years experience overseeing the work of other engineers
  • Professional Engineer (PE) preferred (actively working toward licensure is accepted)
  • Familiarity with Revit & ELUM Tools a plus
  • Knowledge of Electrical Design, Electrical Engineering, Power Distribution, and Power Systems
  • Experience with designing electrical systems for a variety of building types

Familiarity with Revit & ELUM Tools a plus
