We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to the system-level electrical design and development of high-power electrical systems (up to 2.5 MVA) for Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Static Transfer Switch (STS), Power Distribution Unit (PDU), and high-power test bay systems. The role involves hands-on design work, compliance with local and international standards, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The expectation is end-to-end responsibility, including concept, architecture, detailed design, validation, and support through manufacturing and factory acceptance tests (FAT).
Job Responsibility:
Electrical System Design: Support the design and review of electrical systems for UPS, STS, and PDU rated up to 2.5 MVA. Develop detailed schematics and layouts using EPLAN
Busbar & Cable Design: Perform busbar design, including thermal analysis for high-current applications. Calculate and select appropriate cable sizes for power systems and harness design
Bill of Materials (BOM) & ERP Management: Prepare and maintain BOMs for assigned projects. Manage workflows and data in ERP systems
Component Selection & Calculations: Conduct electrical calculations (short-circuit, load flow, protection coordination). Assist in selecting components such as switchgear, transformers, and protective devices
High-Power Test Bay Design & Testing: Contribute to the design of high-power test bays, including integration of grid emulators, recirculation systems, and safety interlocks. Participate in hands-on high-power testing, troubleshooting, and validation of systems. Ensure test setups comply with safety standards and operational requirements
Safety & Compliance: Apply arc-flash analysis, grounding system design and practices, and safe work procedures for high-voltage/high-current systems. Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, UL, IEC, and other relevant standards
Root Cause Analysis: Diagnose and resolve technical issues in power electronics systems using simulation and analytical techniques to identify and implement effective solutions
Innovation & Continuous Learning: Stay current with emerging trends in power electronics and electrical system design. Integrate innovative techniques to enhance product performance and reliability
Safety & Risk Management: Follow all electrical safety protocols and contribute to risk assessments. Support implementation of safe work practices for high-voltage/high-current systems
Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with other engineers and manufacturing teams. Prepare technical documentation, test procedures, and compliance reports
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Minimum 7 years in electrical design for high-power systems (≥1 MVA)
Hands-on experience with EPLAN and ERP systems
Expertise in UPS, STS, PDU systems, and power electronics
Strong experience in busbar design, cable sizing, and safety compliance
Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, UL, and IEC standards for high-power systems
Analytical skills to interpret simulation outcomes and translate them into actionable designs
Experience in high-power test bay design and hands-on testing
Experience with communication protocols relevant to power system integration
Solid understanding of hardware design fundamentals and collaborative cross-functional development
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and within multi-disciplinary teams
Proven experience in managing multiple concurrent projects efficiently
Nice to have:
Knowledge of energy storage technologies and grid integration
Familiarity with grid emulators, recirculation systems, and advanced test setups
Familiarity with battery management systems (BMS), energy storage solutions, control systems, and renewable energy technologies
