Senior Electrical Engineer

• Support the design and equipment selection from an electrical perspective of process, utilities, and building systems
• Support factory acceptance testing
• Provide engineering support during construction to the Capital Projects team
• Execute and guide the commissioning and validation of systems
• Perform engineering assessments for plant equipment operations
• Responsible for Electrical engineering expertise for process, utilities, and building systems
• Effectively collaborate with key customers and support groups
• Work with EHSS in support of electrically related safety initiatives
• Lead identifying and implementing engineering based improvements or upgrades to process equipment systems
• Support delivery of capital projects with responsibilities for electrical design
• Ensure plant readiness and quality and regulatory compliance
• Provide technical mastery and problem-solving leadership to proactively reduce production downtime
• Lead new product/technology introductions
• Advance AI innovative solutions and technologies
• Represent Amgen with outside firms, technical societies and regulatory bodies
• Deploys engineering expertise
• Provide rotational on-call support
• Up to 10% domestic/international travel.

• High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Engineering experience OR
• Associate degree and 8 years of Engineering experience OR
• Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Engineering experience OR
• Master's degree and 2 years of Engineering experience OR
• Doctorate degree

• Professional registration, such as a Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills, and the ability to approach technical issues with a science based mentality
• Familiarity and/or experience working in a regulated environment, pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries
• Knowledge of regulations (e.g. cGMP, building codes, fire codes, electrical codes, IEEE, NEC, NETA, insurance – FM, OSHA, LEED, Energy codes) to ensure compliance
• Experience in the design and construction for medium voltage electrical distribution systems including switchgear, transformers and paralleling generators
• Knowledge of design and construction for 600V (and below) electrical distribution systems equipment including switchgear, panelboards, lighting / lighting control, power monitoring, generators, Life Safety Systems, and Lightning Protection Systems
• Ability to provide direction and guidance to external design firms to deliver capital projects
• Ability to provide solutions to a large variety of technical problems of moderate to large complexity and scope
• Problem-solving skills

• Strong leadership, technical writing, and communication/presentation skills
• Work schedule flexibility as required to support 24/7 operations
• Ability for domestic/international travel
