As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across the design, integration, testing, and support of electrical systems used within mission-critical defence environments. You will play a key role in leading engineering activities, supporting project delivery, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring systems are delivered to the highest technical, safety, and regulatory standards. Job Responsibility
Lead the design, development, integration, and implementation of electrical systems for defence and communication platforms
Provide technical oversight and guidance across electrical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle
Support the integration of electrical systems into wider network and communication architectures
Lead system installation, configuration, testing, and acceptance activities
Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and systems-related issues
Produce and review technical documentation including schematics, test procedures, reports, and design packs
Ensure compliance with applicable electrical regulations, safety standards, and defence requirements
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project managers, suppliers, and customers to deliver integrated solutions
Support continuous improvement initiatives, engineering best practice, and innovation activities
Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians
Contribute technical expertise to bids, proposals, and future capability development activities where required
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years’ experience within electrical engineering, ideally within defence, aerospace, communications, systems integration, or other highly regulated environments
Experience designing, integrating, and supporting complex electrical systems
Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, system integration, and network infrastructures
Experience working with electrical schematics, technical drawings, and engineering documentation
Knowledge of relevant UK electrical standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements
Experience supporting testing, fault finding, and system acceptance activities
Experience working within project-based engineering environments
Nice to have
Experience within the defence sector and familiarity with secure or mission-critical systems is highly desirable
