Job Description

Stantec’s Water team in Australia is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer for the Sydney office to develop and review detailed electrical design for water infrastructure projects. The role involves working in a multi-disciplinary team under the direction of the electrical discipline lead, supporting construction teams, and working with contract partners on small to medium projects.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform electrical engineering design including development of engineering drawings, calculations, reports, design criteria
  • Perform calculations to analyze and design electrical system components
  • Assist in the evaluation and selection of electrical systems and materials
  • Contribute to the development of electrical systems through sketches, models, diagrams
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent
  • Prepare electrical engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules
  • Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, respond to request for information, prepare site observation reports
  • Recognize when technical problems are developing and initiate corrective actions
  • Attend project coordination meetings
  • Participate in value engineering, safety in design workshops and basic cost estimating

Requirements

  • Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years well-rounded experience in the Water and Waste Water industry
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Highly developed consulting skills
  • CPEng (or ability to obtain)
