Stantec’s Water team in Australia is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer for the Sydney office to develop and review detailed electrical design for water infrastructure projects. The role involves working in a multi-disciplinary team under the direction of the electrical discipline lead, supporting construction teams, and working with contract partners on small to medium projects.
Job Responsibility:
Perform electrical engineering design including development of engineering drawings, calculations, reports, design criteria
Perform calculations to analyze and design electrical system components
Assist in the evaluation and selection of electrical systems and materials
Contribute to the development of electrical systems through sketches, models, diagrams
Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations
Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent
Prepare electrical engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules
Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, respond to request for information, prepare site observation reports
Recognize when technical problems are developing and initiate corrective actions
Attend project coordination meetings
Participate in value engineering, safety in design workshops and basic cost estimating
Requirements:
Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 5 years well-rounded experience in the Water and Waste Water industry
Highly developed interpersonal skills
Highly developed consulting skills
CPEng (or ability to obtain)
