The company is currently looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join the networks side of the business in any of their regional offices. As the Senior Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for producing accurate and detailed designs for the electrical projects - these typically will cover 11KV through to 132KV. You’ll help provide support on these projects and help to mentor the junior members of the team too.
Job Responsibility:
Meet clients to discuss requirements and agree on how the works can be undertaken ensuring relevant policies are adhered to
Manage the Design Acceptance process ensuring new projects are logged and designs are approved on time, ensuring approvals are returned within SLA’s and issuing inquiries/rejections in a timely manner
Update documentation and make changes to processes
Work with the company’s Networks teams to ensure the smooth adoption of networks
Review customer requirements and provide a broad range of electricity design services on electrical connections and generation developments based on customer scope of works and location of sites
Work within a multi-disciplinary design team to develop multi-utility networks
Provide project progression feedback to the Design Manager and update appropriate systems accordingly
Process project variations with consideration for implications to the design, commercial, client relationship and supply chains
Assess Point of Connection request on IDNO networks and offer these within SLA
Update design data and keep in a presentable format
Requirements:
3-5 years experience working within an electrical design environment
Knowledge of industry standards and company policies & procedures, ensuring all designs are fully compliant with the company’s codes of practice
Be able to liaise with DNOs/IDNOs regarding their requirements and specifications in order to obtain all relevant information required to undertake electrical network design activities
