This role is about walking alongside Anangu and other Aboriginal young people, families and communities to create meaningful education and employment pathways. Based at Uluru, Ayers Rock Resort, you will be part of a dedicated Indigenous Engagement Team working in partnership with Anangu leaders, schools and community organizations across the NPY and Central Australia regions.
Job Responsibility:
Support our successful Real Jobs Program (RJP) and Education Pathways Program, creating a culturally safe pathway to long term careers through respectful engagement
Supporting school groups and work experience activities with the team
Design and deliver programs that support Aboriginal students and young people to explore training and employment opportunities at Ayers Rock Resort, including hosting 20 school groups a year
Travel regularly across remote communities to facilitate engagement activities such as school-based training, work exposure visits and mentoring programs
Stakeholder and Community Engagement – Build and maintain strong relationships with Anangu communities, service providers, and internal departments to strengthen participation in employment opportunities at Ayers Rock Resort
Support Anangu employees at the Resort by building confidence, skills and cultural safety in the workplace
Reporting and Compliance – Maintain accurate data and documentation, prepare reports to meet funding and organisational requirements, and ensure all operational activities comply with Voyages’ policies and standards
Requirements:
Passionate about working alongside Aboriginal young people to achieve their goals
Experienced in working in remote Aboriginal contexts and building strong community relationships
A confident communicator with strong coordination and mentoring skills
Flexible, reliable and culturally respectful in all aspects of your work
Holds (or is willing to obtain) an NT Working with Children Check (Ochre card) and open Australian Driver's License with experience in 4WD competencies
Lived experience, community language skills and cultural knowledge are highly valued
