In this position you will join the Aurecon Energy business, supporting the Power Transmission and Distribution SAVI team. You will play an integral role in a team of highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients who are driving the development of the power transmission network — from major inter-state interconnectors and new energy zone backbones to the connection of iconic nation-building projects to the grid.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver high-quality drafting, 3D modelling, and detailing for transmission line projects, with a focus on structural drafting of lattice towers
Produce accurate steel detailing and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, and MicroStation
Lead and coordinate drafting deliverables, ensuring outputs are aligned with project schedules, standards, and client requirements
Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and offshore teams to deliver integrated project solutions
Apply digital tools, innovative methods, and Aurecon’s design processes to enhance efficiency and project outcomes
Support knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement by contributing to Aurecon’s digital ways of working and adopting new technologies
Ensure compliance with relevant AU/NZ codes, standards, and best practices in transmission line design and detailing
Partner with colleagues across different geographies and disciplines, embracing Aurecon’s collaborative and connected way of working
Requirements:
Graduate of Tertiary Education in Civil Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 5 years’ solid experience in transmission line drafting, including structural drafting of lattice towers
Proficiency in 3D modelling and steel detailing using AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, and MicroStation
Strong attention to detail and ability to lead drafting and modelling aspects of projects
