Job Description

Morson Edge are currently working with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy to recruit an experienced Document Controller to support a major defence infrastructure programme. This is a key position within a long-term, high-profile project environment, where effective document management and information control are critical to successful project delivery. The role is predominantly remote, with candidates considered across the UK, particularly between Glasgow and Plymouth. Northwest-based candidates are preferred, although location is flexible for the right individual.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage and maintain project documentation and information management systems
  • Ensure accurate document control, version management and audit trails
  • Coordinate document submissions, reviews, approvals and distributions
  • Maintain Common Data Environment (CDE) standards and procedures
  • Work closely with project teams, consultants and subcontractors to ensure compliance with document management protocols
  • Support quality assurance and project governance requirements
  • Produce document control reports and monitor project information workflows
  • Ensure compliance with security, confidentiality and project-specific requirements

Requirements

  • Significant experience within a Document Controller or Information Management role
  • Strong knowledge of document control procedures within engineering, construction, infrastructure or defence environments
  • Experience using Common Data Environments (CDEs) and information management systems
  • Proficiency with SharePoint, Microsoft Excel and metadata management
  • Experience using document management platforms such as Autodesk Vault, ProjectWise, Aconex, Viewpoint, 4Projects or similar systems
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work independently within a remote project environment

Nice to have

  • Previous experience supporting defence, nuclear or major infrastructure projects
  • Current or previous Security Clearance (SC)
  • Architectural Technology, Technical Architecture or related technical qualification
  • Experience supporting multidisciplinary design teams
