Job Description

The Sr. Distribution Manager leads North America’s multi-site distribution network, overseeing operations across H.B. Fuller facilities and 3PL partners. This role drives strategic network design, operational excellence, and supply chain efficiency to support business growth and service performance. The position collaborates closely with planning, customer service, operations, and commercial teams to deliver a safe, scalable, and high-performing distribution environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead multi-site distribution operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient warehousing and transportation activities
  • Oversee 3PL performance, including scorecards, quarterly reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Implement network strategies that improve service levels, optimize inventory flow, and support regional business objectives
  • Manage key warehouse KPIs such as inventory accuracy, cycle counts, on-time shipments, and days-on-hand performance
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align distribution capabilities with supply planning, production schedules, financial controls, and customer requirements
  • Drive process improvements, standardization, and systems optimization across sites, including SAP and WMS utilization
  • Lead and develop distribution supervisors, planners, and regional leads through coaching, performance reviews, and training programs
  • Oversee a ~$10M distribution budget, ensuring accurate vendor invoicing, cost control, and effective resource planning

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, operations, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience leading multi-site distribution or warehouse networks, including 3PL management
  • Proficiency with SAP or an equivalent ERP system and advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, operational KPIs, and compliance programs (OSHA, DOT, SOX)
  • Ability to lead teams through operational change, standardization, and continuous improvement efforts

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production-based distribution environment
  • Experience with WMS, TMS, and ERP system integration projects
  • APICS or similar supply chain certification
  • Prior involvement in network design, warehouse optimization, or regional distribution strategy deployment
