Job Description

The Senior Director, Philanthropy and Partnerships is a front-line member of Y-USA’s fundraising team, responsible for securing the philanthropic resources necessary to reach and sustain YUSA’s $100 million annual fundraising goal in service to organizational priorities.

Job Responsibility

  • Build and manage a principal gift ($250,000+) donor portfolio aligned to reaching the department’s annual $100 million goal
  • Partner with the Vice President of Financial Development to build the individual donor portfolio for YUSA
  • Lead discovery and engagement meetings with prospective funders
  • Partner with a grant writer and project manager to build and submit funding proposals
  • Collaborate with Financial Development operations and appropriate program staff to ensure grant awards are distributed in a timely manner
  • Update donor database on a regular and frequent basis

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required in a relevant field such as Business, or related disciplines required
  • Advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience required
  • Deep functional expertise and functional thought leadership
  • Oversee multiple teams or functions
  • Ownership of short to mid-term execution of functional strategy and the operational direction
  • Internal and external communications, executive level, high influence on dept. and organization
  • Minimal supervision from manager, manages an area or team leads within a function/department
