Job Description:

This role is in support of American Health Packaging, a Cencora business offering pharma packaging services in the US. American Health Packaging (AHP) is seeking a Senior Director of Purchasing & Planning to support our Columbus, Ohio manufacturing facility. This is a site focused leadership position dedicated to American Health Packaging operations. This leader will be onsite in Columbus and will lead and develop a small onsite team (approximately 7 – 10 direct/indirect reports).

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and implement solutions to address challenges in Supply Chain activities such as Supply Chain Optimization, Vendor Managed Inventory, system Optimization, Development of Supply Chain Tools and Metrics, Cost Reduction and Cost Avoidance
  • Network Related Special Projects
  • Manufacturer Audits
  • Sales Inventory Operations Planning (SIOP) Process Refinement and Management, Inventory Planning and Forecasting
  • Material Review Board/Aging Inventory, Contract negotiations and Operational Enhancement Projects
  • Lead all Supply Chain Functions, including Direct Materials Purchasing, CapEx and Non-Inventory Purchasing and Production Planning
  • Develop and implement business processes to drive long-term supply chain success
  • Evaluate process effectiveness and report performance results to key internal and external stakeholders
  • Review supplier agreements, manage a variety of processes and work closely with service providers and suppliers to ensure compliance and obtain expected benefits from contracts
  • Facilitate processes that contribute to enhanced relationships with business partners
  • Enhance and lead the Sales Inventory Operations Planning (SIOP) process for the site
  • Identify and achieve cost reduction and cost avoidance goals in alignment with annual plan
  • Participate in supply and demand chain projects across the organization, as needed
  • Develop and lead process for Material Review Board to ensure timely disposition of products and materials
  • Actively support the team in system enhancements
  • Develop supply chain optimization improvements, including VMI, EOQ, JIT to reduce cost without compromising service levels
  • Clearly define roles and responsibilities within the group to ensure each associate is accountable for delivering results
  • Comply with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Broad training in fields such as supply chain, business administration, accountancy, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years directly related and progressively responsible experience
  • At least ten (10) years experience at a director level with a demonstrated ability to manage teams of at least 5-10 associates
  • Strong executive presence and ability to develop sustainable relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Outstanding collaboration skills with a demonstrated ability to drive cross functional input on key decisions and influence stakeholders
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare distribution business, supplier interrelationships and industry trends
  • Ability to quantify business opportunities and risks
  • Experience in managing contract development and compliance
  • Outstanding problem solving skills
  • Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to effectively manage multiple projects of various diverse scope in a cross-functional environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to design and implement processes that achieve business objections, operational efficiency, and control effectiveness
  • Outstanding knowledge of product and supplier base, product interrelationships and industry trends affecting supplier's business
