Director of Public Relations drives awareness of the Hotel through all public relations channels, including but not limited to print, online and broadcast media; social media; digital marketing, advertising; and special events and promotions.
Job Responsibility:
Leads in media relations by actively managing professional relationships with local and international media/social media influencers/bloggers
Manage relationships with public relations agencies, assist with marketing briefs
Actively participates in community events
Leads weekly internal PR meetings for Food & Beverage, Catering, Spa, and Rooms
Identify coaching moments and ensure opportunities of learning and development
Establish a rapport with the PR & Communications team and other divisions
Supervise the day-to-day duties of the PR & Communications team
Hold monthly department meetings
Participate in and develop staff training programs and development plans
Supervise, train and motivate department staff
Weekly PR & Communication meeting with the Senior Director of Marketing
Prepare reviews and development plans and take appropriate personnel-related action
Drive the execution of the annual PR plan
Understands Hotel’s marketplace
well-informed of market trends
Manage and proofread all Japanese and International written marketing materials, brochures and collateral
Direct the development of hotel promotions, advertising, e-direct mail pieces, newsletters and collateral
Assist in appearance and maintain storage of all Hotel print and electronic materials
Assist in maintenance of the Hotel and R&B email databases
Assists the storage of all Brand guidelines, communication toolkits, and agency PR strategic plans
Assist with media events, journalist and influencer stays, and press trips
Assist in Hotel’s digital strategy
Actively co-manage all Four Seasons proprietary websites
Assist in the Hotel and R&B social media channels
Leverage social media channels to amplify key messages and activities
Ensures Hotel & R&B participation in corporate global social media campaigns
Perform any additional duties as assigned
Develop an annual marketing and branding budget
Work in accordance with hotel's financial forecast and budget
Works closely with the Hotel teams to develop strategic annual marketing plans
Assist in digital marketing included but not limited to PPC, SEO/SEM, and digital advertising and e-commerce
Track ROI and present monthly results of digital marketing and social media efforts
Ability to process invoices and purchase orders
Assist in maintaining Hotel’s image library and video banks
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Minimum five years’ experience in related industries, preferably within luxury hospitality
Excellent writing, presentation and communications skills
Proven relationships with media, community and business contacts
Strong strategic mind-set and business acumen
Solid experience in digital marketing
The ability to create integrated marketing campaigns, newsworthy events, develop story ideas and follow through with pitch leads
Photography skills and an eye for aesthetic
Attention to detail and organization
Media relations experience
Demonstrated knowledge of mobile, emerging and social media applications
Knowledge of production methods in graphic arts and collateral
Ability to multi-task effectively
Ability to manage third-party agencies, partners, and vendors
Require a flexible schedule
Must possess legal work authorization for Japan
Must be fluent in English business communication
