The Four Seasons Hotels in Kyoto and Osaka are seeking a Senior Director of Public Relations and Marketing to lead the integrated communications and marketing strategy across two of Japan’s most distinctive luxury destinations. This cluster role presents a unique opportunity to shape the positioning of both a heritage-driven cultural retreat in Kyoto and a modern urban luxury experience in Osaka, driving brand equity, guest engagement, and measurable commercial performance across all channels. This is a cluster role based at either Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto or Four Seasons Hotel Osaka, with regular travel required between both properties to ensure strong on-property presence, alignment, and execution.
Job Responsibility
Develop and lead integrated PR and Marketing strategies aligned with commercial goals and property priorities
Define and maintain clear, differentiated positioning for Kyoto and Osaka, leveraging their distinct identities
Identify target audiences, key feeder markets, and seasonal opportunities to drive demand
Lead the planning and execution of the annual marketing and communications calendar
Oversee global campaigns, local activations, and F&B-driven initiatives
Ensure consistent, high-quality storytelling across all channels
Drive direct revenue through FourSeasons.com by optimizing digital channel performance
Oversee paid media strategy, SEO, and content optimization
Apply data-driven planning, testing, and conversion strategies to maximize ROI
Partner with the Commercial Director to manage and optimize marketing investment across paid, owned, and earned channels
Own budget planning, allocation, and performance tracking within the property P&L
Establish clear KPIs and measurement frameworks to evaluate effectiveness
Deliver post-campaign analysis and actionable insights
Leverage guest insights, consumer trends, and competitive analysis to inform decision-making
Continuously refine strategies based on performance data and evolving market conditions
Ensure alignment with global brand standards while maintaining strong local relevance
Maximize adoption and impact of global brand initiatives within local and feeder markets
Lead, mentor, and develop PR and Marketing teams across both properties
Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and high performance
Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, ownership, corporate teams, and external agencies
Requirements
10+ years of experience in luxury hospitality, lifestyle, or premium brand marketing
Proven leadership experience in multi-property or regional roles
Strong expertise in digital marketing, performance media, and brand communications
Demonstrated ability to drive measurable commercial outcomes
Exceptional storytelling and brand-building capabilities
Strong stakeholder management skills across diverse, global environments
Native-level proficiency in Japanese
Strong business-level proficiency in English
