The Senior Director of New Business Development will play a pivotal role in accelerating our clients commercial growth by identifying and securing new customer partnerships. With a focus on foodservice and manufacturing segments, this role will drive strategic selling efforts and manage one direct report. You will lead targeted prospecting aligned with the companys core competencies and deliver innovative, value-driven solutions that expand our commercial footprint.
Job Responsibility:
Identify and convert high-potential prospects aligned with company’s core competencies
Build and manage a robust pipeline through targeted outreach and market intelligence
Represent the company at industry events to expand visibility and generate leads
Develop tailored engagement plans with a consultative, solution-oriented approach
Develop and coach direct reports to ensure delivery of strategic new business acquisition objectives
Establish and effectively manage commercial KPIs across team, including but not limited to prospecting activity, sales funnel, customer visits, sales performance, and related commercial KPIs
Partner with prospects and internal teams to co-create solutions that meet functionality and value needs
Translate prospect needs into actionable briefs and facilitate R&D alignment
Ensure responsiveness and delivery of critical sales resources
Collaborate on pricing strategies that support new business goals
Analyze market trends to identify whitespace opportunities
Provide insights to enhance sales strategy and customer experience
Coordinate executive-level engagements to support strategic prospect conversion
Represent the company’s brand with professionalism and commercial acumen
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, science or related field
Minimum of ten (10) years’ business development, sales, or commercial strategy experience, preferably in a leadership capacity
Dairy/cheese industry experience required
Experience in foodservice and manufacturing segments preferred
Proven track record of acquiring and converting new customer
Proven leadership experience coaching and developing high performing sales talent
Ability to sell technical solutions across functional and value-driven categories
Strong strategic prospecting and consultative selling skills
Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders
Ability to effectively plan and measure sales performance against budgetary goals
Excellent presentation, negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building skills
Must be able to travel routinely for prospecting and customer engagements
