Within CO+I, the Global Planning Supply Chain team is responsible for establishing a supply chain that can meet the ever-growing Microsoft Cloud for our customers. We support a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-billion, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects and operations of those assets. We are looking to fill a critical role of Senior Director, Global Material Planning for data center infrastructure demand.

Job Responsibility:

  • Define and implement global material planning strategy aligned with business growth and supply chain objectives
  • Develop governance frameworks for demand planning, supply planning, and inventory optimization across regions
  • Oversee Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes to balance demand and supply effectively
  • Lead global planning transformation initiatives, including digital tools and advanced analytics adoption
  • Ensure material availability for datacenter builds and critical infrastructure projects
  • Drive standardization of planning processes, parameters, and KPIs across all regions
  • Identify and mitigate supply risks, ensuring timely communication to stakeholders
  • Deliver planning outputs such as monthly reviews, supply plans, inventory status reports, and risk dashboards
  • Monitor global inventory health and implement strategies to reduce excess and obsolescence
  • Partner with sourcing, supplier management, finance, and logistics teams to align supply plans with capacity and lead times
  • Collaborate with engineering and NPI teams to integrate material planning into product development cycles
  • Act as escalation point for critical supply constraints and recovery plans
  • Identify and mitigate global supply risks, including geopolitical, capacity, and transportation challenges
  • Develop contingency plans and dual-sourcing strategies for high-risk components
  • Build and lead a high-performing global material planning organization, promoting a culture of accountability and innovation
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and collaboration
  • Influence decision-making at the executive level and recommend enhancements to planning methodologies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Data Analytics, Business Operations, Finance, or related field AND 10+ years experience in data science/analytics, engineering, industrial engineering, supply chain, operations, or project management with a supply chain or operations field

  • State of Compliance Reporting: Preparing quarterly, in accordance with the approved global format, and in adherence to all established requirements for the State of Compliance reporting. The State of Compliance report will be presented to the appropriate CCC, BRCC and legal entity Board or Board Audit Committee, or other such Board committee required within the jurisdiction.
  • Enhancing Governance: Providing a valued interactive program of support and compliance risk management services covering the assessment and reporting of Key Compliance Risks across products, services, functions, legal entities, service centers and the jurisdiction as a whole.
