Job Description

Lead and scale the Credit Risk & Analytics function driving AI/ML-based underwriting, real-time portfolio monitoring, collections strategy, and risk-adjusted performance across Deel’s portfolio. You’ll build predictive, real-time analytics systems, operationalize models with Product & Engineering teams, and embed governance and compliance into every step. Your work will shape underwriting strategy, support sustainable growth, and serve overlooked segments.

Job Responsibility

  • Build and maintain a credit risk analytics capability to provide timely, actionable insights for portfolio optimisation, loss forecasting, and provision adequacy
  • Lead iterative development of underwriting and pricing models - from evaluating AI/ML algorithms, sourcing alternative data to production deployment and continuous optimization with cross-functional partners
  • Identify and integrate non-traditional data sources (e.g., transactional, behavioural) to boost predictive accuracy and credit access for underserved markets
  • Architect real time monitoring frameworks and automated alerting systems for portfolio health, KRIs, concentration exposure, and collections performance
  • Ensure proactive risk identification for new products, markets, or customer segments
  • Design and execute A/B testing frameworks for new underwriting/scoring criteria, pricing, and customer segments
  • Develop and implement credit risk governance processes, including Credit Committees, actionable reporting and escalation protocols
  • Ensure models and analytics pipelines are auditable, scalable, deployment-ready, and aligned with best practices
  • Collaborate with Product, Sales, Operations, Compliance, and Engineering to align underwriting strategy with business objectives and economic levers

Requirements

  • A minimum of 15 years in credit risk management, including leadership roles in consumer and small business lending
  • Hands-on experience building, validating, deploying AI/ML underwriting or scoring models
  • Experience leveraging alternative data sets for Consumer and SME lending
  • Demonstrated success in managing credit risk for new products, markets, and customer segments
  • Strong leadership, with ability to train non‑technical stakeholders in analytics and risk concepts
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Statistics, or related field
  • Master’s preferred
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, PRM) will be considered a strong advantage
