Job Description

The Senior Director, Core Data Center Services Data & Insights is accountable for the strategy, stewardship, and operational excellence of data and insights that power CDS (Core Datacenter Services) execution across the global data center portfolio. This role establishes clear ownership, consistency, and reliability of critical operational, capacity, lifecycle, and performance data that today spans multiple teams, tools, and systems. The Senior Director builds and leads a dedicated organization responsible for bringing together disparate data domains, defining authoritative sources, and delivering trusted, decision-ready insights for executive leadership, engineering, operations, and planning partners. This role operates at the intersection of infrastructure operations, analytics, governance, and business decision-making, enabling CO+I to scale with clarity, speed, and accountability.

Job Responsibility

  • Design scalable operating models that enable consistent data management while supporting evolving business needs.
  • Partner with engineering and platform teams to influence data architecture, tooling, and automation in support of reliability and scale.
  • Lead the delivery of high-impact insights, dashboards, and narratives that inform CO+I and CDS leadership on performance, risk, capacity, cost, and execution health.
  • Ensure data products are accurate, timely, and decision-oriented, enabling leaders to move quickly with confidence.
  • Translate complex datasets into clear, executive-ready perspectives that drive prioritization and tradeoff decisions.
  • Establish strong data governance, quality controls, and validation mechanisms to ensure trust and consistency across all CDS reporting.
  • Drive alignment on common definitions, KPIs, and success measures across global teams.
  • Ensure data practices align with security, compliance, and privacy requirements across regions and environments.
  • Build and lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary organization spanning data engineering, analytics, program management, and business insights.
  • Develop leadership capability and technical depth within the team, fostering a culture of ownership, rigor, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear rhythms of business that connect data delivery to operational execution and strategic planning.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to Core Data Center Services, Azure engineering, capacity planning, finance, and operations leaders.
  • Influence upstream processes to improve data quality at the source, reducing downstream friction and rework
  • Represent CDS data and insights perspectives in executive forums and strategic initiatives.
  • Embody our Microsoft One culture and values.
