Job Description

The Product Manager position offers a unique opportunity to join a fun, innovative engineering team within the EDSE (Enterprise Data Strategy and Engineering) organization. You’ll work on building next-generation capabilities and services in Data and AI using innovative open-source software, frameworks, tools, and cloud computing services. The role also emphasizes demonstrating these capabilities to support critical business operations and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities. As a Product Manager, you will prioritize product plans. Working closely with business stakeholders and engineering to help chalk out product strategy and roadmap for the product in line with the organization goals and maximizing the outcomes. Lead and oversee the product from plannings, Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy to outcome tracking for the product for the EDSE (Enterprise Data Strategy and Engineering).

Job Responsibility

  • User/Customer research: Be the voice of the customer in the team and prioritize the features accordingly
  • Have a deep understanding of customers and customer systems
  • Analyze the data usage in the customer system and propose new features
  • Product Planning and Strategy: Participate in planning and defining opportunities for the product
  • Be the evangelist for the product
  • Define cases against the internal organizational goals
  • Planning for the features in the products releases
  • Defining requirements for the product: Translate business needs into clear product requirements
  • Create user stories, acceptance criteria, and use cases
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, and business function teams
  • Ensure alignment across teams during product development
  • Product Launch & Go-to-Market: Execute internal GTM(go-to-market) for product for the different business functions of Amgen as per the applicability
  • Discover, track and leverage customers’ insights
  • Oversee the product’s performance and success

Requirements

  • Strategic thinking and business acumen to lead the product
  • Understanding of the data products
  • Understanding of life sciences domain and have experience in it
  • Be customers focused
  • Have technology acumen and technical know-hows of the systems
  • Have experience in GTM(go-to-market)
  • Know how to track the success of the product
  • Must have led end to end product development lifecycle for a product or part of the product
  • Bachelor’s degree and 12 to 17 years of Information/Tech Systems experience
  • Know to develop business cases aligned to the organizational strategy
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/SAFe)
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with big data technologies, AI platforms, and cloud-based data solutions
  • Ability to work and lead effectively across matrixed organizations and collaborate between data and AI teams
  • Passion for technology and product success, particularly in driving innovative AI and data solutions
  • Experience in technology products related to data and AI products is a plus
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Excellent analytical and solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams
  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities successfully
