The Senior Digital Strategist is responsible for working with account teams, cross-functional teams, and clients to develop channel activation and engagement strategies that effectively segment and target audiences to amplify brand awareness and grow demand. The candidate must be a problem-solver and innovator who will look for ideas and solutions through analytics, technology trends, and audience insights to influence brand/marketing strategies.
Job Responsibility:
Works alongside agency cross-functional teams to develop fully integrated digital marketing strategies and solutions
Manages direct reports who contribute to digital work on the assigned accounts
Provides direction and oversight to digital work while facilitating integration and strategic account growth
Provides strategic thought leadership in the digital space
Educates agency peers and clients
Provides consultation and guidance on various areas of digital marketing communications (web, digital, social, mobile)
Leads the planning and execution of online strategies, campaigns, and platforms, including social media (paid and organic), search (paid, organic and AI) while collaborating with Experience and Technology team on websites/landing pages, CRM/automation, and emerging technologies
Works with the account and project management teams to help define scope and recommended approaches for digital projects
Acts as the main point of contact to assigned accounts for all assigned client-related deliverables
Develops unique strategies and builds upon current client strategies within the digital arena to meet/exceed client objectives
Identifies key digital trends and insights to make business decisions
Leverages research tools and data to form strategic approaches that are driven by actionable insights
Manages and assists in reporting, evaluation, and insights derived from digital marketing campaigns
Utilizes Google Analytics, Search Console, Keyword Planner, and SEMrush in conjunction with other reporting services (Looker Studio and Tableau) to track metrics and refine client strategies
Collaborates with the media team to complement online buys by providing consultation on audience and keyword research, destination/landing page strategies, and website KPIs/performance measurement
Supports Director, Digital Marketing Strategy in providing digital marketing support, internal digital process development, coaching, professional development, and training to 2RM associates and clients
Supports overall agency digital marketing efforts, including contributing to social media, blogs, and new business efforts as needed
Works with Senior Digital Marketing Director to continually assess and improve the types and levels of digital marketing services the agency provides
Open to adopting AI and emerging technologies to support day-to-day work and improve efficiency across digital initiatives
Serves as an agency resource for SEO-related initiatives
Ensures availability to internal teams as opportunities arise requiring SEO knowledge and support
Provides SEO expertise for keyword research, link building, on-page optimization, conversion goals, and mobile search for clients
Provides SEO thought leadership internally and with clients
Consults with accounts across the agency in strategic planning initiatives
Researches and reports on SEO trends and developments in key channels
Collaborates with content and creative teams to create effective SEO strategies
Assists web developers and web designers with implementing best practices
Interprets technical site errors and recommends appropriate solutions (to be implemented internally or via third-party vendors)
Attends seminars as appropriate to engage in networking opportunities
Stays on top of the latest search engine trends and guidelines, including AI-influenced ranking signals, social SEO, algorithm updates, and white hat and black hat tactics to avoid violating search engine guidelines
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field is preferred
5+ years of hands-on experience in strategy/planning with a focus on digital marketing
at least 3 years of SEO strategy
Functional knowledge of Google Analytics, Search Console, Keyword Planner, Moz, and SEMrush (certifications a plus)
Deep knowledge of digital outlets and social channels
Practice in advanced SEO theory and applied techniques
In-depth knowledge of integrated marketing and digital disciplines
Superior communication skills, both internal and client-facing
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Ability to work effectively with a variety of internal teams
Effective time management as well as strong organization skills and attention to detail
Ability to monitor and adhere to budgets and schedules
Strong interest in technology and digital marketing
In-depth understanding of agency processes
Strong desire to expand digital knowledge to include search engine marketing, email marketing, mobile, web, and app development
