Job Description:

We’re looking for a CI/CD Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join a Platform Engineering team on a long-term remote contract with the option to convert to full-time. In this role, you’ll design, implement, and optimize modern CI/CD pipelines that accelerate software delivery, improve reliability, and automate complex release processes. You’ll also collaborate closely with development and operations teams, particularly supporting Java-based applications, to drive continuous improvement and engineering excellence.

Job Responsibility:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines to streamline build, test, and deployment workflows
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Java applications into CI/CD environments
Implement and enhance automation frameworks that improve efficiency and reliability
Troubleshoot pipeline and deployment issues, ensuring high availability and performance
Continuously optimize pipelines for speed, scalability, and best practices
Provide hands-on technical leadership and contribute to platform engineering standards

Requirements:

Proven experience (8+ years) building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
Strong Java development background, including build and integration processes
Proficiency with version control (Git) and automation scripting in Bash or Python
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot pipeline issues and improve performance
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice to have:

Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker or Kubernetes
Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, or AWS)
Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Ansible
Knowledge of microservices architecture and its integration into CI/CD workflows
