Job Description:

We are currently looking for a candidate for the position of Senior DevOps Engineer for our client from the biotechnology industry. The project team is implementing software tools for genomic data stored in the cloud, leveraging and extending existing infrastructure and APIs written in Python. The team is based in Poland and the USA. This position will interact closely with other team members based in Poland and Project Owner in San Francisco.

Job Responsibility:

Designing, deploying, and maintaining production cloud environments on AWS
Building, operating, and improving CI/CD pipelines using GitHub or GitLab
Managing Kubernetes clusters and application deployments with Helm
Automating cloud infrastructure using Terraform (Terragrunt is a plus)
Collaborating with development teams on Python-based microservices (FastAPI)
Monitoring systems, configuring alerts, and optimizing performance and reliability
Ensuring system, network, and access security, including IAM and networking best practices
Creating and maintaining automation scripts using bash
Maintaining technical documentation and working closely with an international, distributed team

Requirements:

min. 5 years of experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub or GitLab
3+ years of experience running production systems on Kubernetes, including deployments with Helm
2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, including services such as EKS, ECR, S3, IAM, EC2, and RDS
solid experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (Terragrunt is a plus)
familiar with monitoring and alerting tools and system reliability practices
experience developing Python (3.8+) microservices with FastAPI and strong bash scripting skills
understand networking concepts, system security best practices, and 12-Factor App principles
communicate effectively and are fluent in English, enabling collaboration in an international environment

Experience with ElasticSearch/OpenSearch implementations
Skills to automate creation of environments on the cloud will be highly appreciated
