An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Development Management Officer within the Council's Planning Service. The role is key to achieving the Council's objective of delivering high quality development in a timely and efficient manner.
Job Responsibility:
Dealing with a varied and interesting caseload of complex minor and small scale major applications
Supporting Principal planners on major projects such as city centre developments or sustainable urban extensions to the city
Guiding and mentoring less experienced officers
Driving up the quality of design
Participating in service improvement projects
Requirements:
Qualified planning officer with an RTPI accredited planning degree
At least 3 years broad experience in development management
Experienced in dealing with minor and householder planning applications
Excellent communicator, willing to develop and grow professionally, and to support the growth of the wider team
Enthusiastic, dynamic and proactive
Organisational and problem solving qualities
A keen interest in place shaping
A willingness to drive performance and improve the quality of design
