Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Design System Engineer to take ownership of the technical architecture of our multi-platform design system. You’ll work directly with design system designers and platform engineering teams to take the way we build user interfaces at Bolt to the next level.

Job Responsibility

  • Own the technical vision
  • Architect platform-agnostic infrastructure like design tokens, Figma plugins and shared utilities
  • Promote best practices and facilitate technical discussions
  • Align engineering platform teams around shared design system goals and priorities
  • Shape the vision, strategy and roadmap for the design system, representing engineering interests
  • Develop technical metrics for the Design System
  • Advocate for the design system to the engineering organisation
  • Drive continuous improvement, identify opportunities and lead them

Requirements

  • Worked in a design system team or as a contributor to a design system initiative
  • Led engineers in complex cross-team projects
  • Practical experience working with multiple platforms (web + iOS/Android/React Native)
  • Strong communicator, capable of representing diverse interests
  • Systems thinker, comfortable navigating in ambiguity
  • Using AI daily is a baseline expectation
