Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our Hydraulic Installation team in Peterlee. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development of hydraulic installation systems for heavy machinery, ensuring they meet high standards for performance, durability, and manufacturability. This is a high-impact position involving complex routing, simulation, and close collaboration with global teams, manufacturing plants, and external suppliers.

Job Responsibility

  • Design and develop hydraulic installation systems using Creo
  • Perform basic structural analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) using Creo Simulate
  • Release new designs and manage engineering changes through Teamcenter
  • Manage complex project deliverables on time while maintaining standard work practices
  • Coordinate directly with manufacturing/operations teams to resolve design issues and identify improvements
  • Collaborate with suppliers on new part designs and revisions.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university (or 25+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree)
  • 9+ years of engineering experience across design, validation, or simulation
  • Advanced expertise in Creo Design and intermediate to advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems/machine integration
  • Experience performing FEA / Simulation (Creo Simulate / Pro-Mechanical)
  • Strong communication skills and a proven track record of working effectively in global, cross-functional team environments.
