The Sr. Design Engineer plays a key role in the Seeding Product Lines at CNH Industrial, working independently or as a team leader. This role involves designing products, improving existing solutions, and managing medium to large projects, while guiding junior engineers. Collaboration with cross-functional teams ensures high quality designs and timely product completion. The engineer will conduct design analysis on components and assemblies, ensuring cost efficiency, manufacturability, and reliability. Hands-on design development and verification are essential for success in this role.
Job Responsibility:
Design, develop, and support the integration of vehicle components and/or subsystems for seeding equipment consistent with program objectives to support product launch
Collaborate with the engineering team to coordinate interrelated design and assure project completion
Lead design reviews and DFM/DFA processes to ensure manufacturing understanding and incorporate manufacturing feedback into successful industrialization of the completed design
Conduct and review design analysis on components and/or assemblies to assist in the development process, ensuring designs are cost effective, manufacturable, and meet quality targets
Support prototype builds and actively engage in field operations related to the specific design
Develop, maintain, and release necessary system specifications and documentation to be used by both internal and external customers
Design new processes and improvements for product development
May confer with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products
May direct field testing of products and systems performed by field staff
May provide technical leadership and assist in training less experienced engineers
May forecast operating costs of department and direct preparation of budget requests for specific projects
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, an Agricultural Engineering Degree with a focus in heavy machinery, Industrial Design, or a related field, may be considered
6 years of relevant experience in Engineering Design
Knowledge of seeding and/or other North American farming practices
Strong problem solving skills
Experience working cross-functionally across teams
Mechanical aptitude
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) licensure
Experience with Pro/E Creo or similliar 3D parametric modeling software
