Join our Integrated Spectrum Design team as a Senior Design Engineer, where you will act as the global design authority for the Spectrum Launch Vehicle. This role ensures the integration of subsystem kits from Propulsion, AGNC, and LV Structures into the overall vehicle architecture, driving design standards, modularization, and industrialization for cost-effective and reliable production.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as global design authority for the Spectrum Launch Vehicle, ensuring integration of all subsystem kits into the vehicle architecture in coordination with Propulsion, AGNC and LV Structures
Define and maintain the ICD framework across subsystem teams and external stakeholders
Govern the global CAD model and EBOM, ensuring harmonized BOM structure, configuration control, and release status tracking for all subsystems
Own and enforce common design standards and guidelines, ensuring consistent implementation across Propulsion, AGNC, and LV Structures teams
Drive modularization, industrialization, and standardization of hardware to reduce cost, part count, and COTS/standard variance throughout the vehicle in coordination with DFMA team
Act as ECR process owner and technical decision-maker for cross-functional changes impacting vehicle design and subsystem integration
Serve as design process owner for respective departments, interfacing with Digital & Operations (PLM, CAD systems, MES) to maintain data integrity
Collaborate with Production, DFMA and AIT, incorporating feedback into design iterations and kit definitions to ensure manufacturability and assembly efficiency
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
5+ years in launch vehicle or aerospace system design, with proven experience in subsystem integration and managing top level complex assemblies
High proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., Siemens NX, Solidworks), PLM systems, and EBOM management
Deep knowledge about Propulsion, AGNC, and LV Structures (depending on the position knowledge only in one department required)
ability to work across multiple disciplines and define the framework for ICDs
Deeply integrated into company processes such as ECR workflows, configuration management, and workflows in PLM, able to improve these processes according to the needs of subsystem departments
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
ability to work in a cross-functional team and drive decisions under time constraints in accordance with architectural design envelope
Structured problem-solving approach with high attention to detail and capability to meet the needs of subsystem design departments and Production / AIT
Fluent in English
