Job Description:

Senior Design Engineer role in Instrumentation & Control at Assystem Stup, focusing on design, project execution, maintenance, and compliance for complex infrastructure and energy projects.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and review instrumentation and control system designs, drawings, and specifications
  • Select appropriate instruments, sensors, transmitters, and control systems for process applications
  • Prepare datasheets, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations
  • Participate in project planning, cost estimation, and scheduling of instrumentation activities
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, process, etc.) during project execution
  • Support construction and commissioning of instrumentation systems
  • Develop and implement calibration procedures and schedules for field instruments
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair instrumentation and control systems
  • Ensure all instruments meet required accuracy, safety, and compliance standards
  • Support configuration, testing, and optimization of PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems
  • Maintain and update control logic, instrument loops, and interlocks as per process requirements
  • Ensure all instrumentation work complies with industry standards (ISA, IEC, API, etc.)
  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with quality and safety procedures
  • Participate in HAZOP, SIL, and risk assessments
  • Recommend and implement improvements to instrumentation systems for better reliability and efficiency
  • Stay updated on new technologies and industry best practices

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field
  • Typically 10-15 yrs of experience in instrumentation design, installation, or maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of process instrumentation (flow, pressure, level, temperature, etc.)
  • Experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA systems, and fieldbus communication (HART, Modbus, Profibus)
  • Familiarity with P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control narratives
  • Understanding of hazardous area classifications and intrinsically safe systems
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail and safety awareness
