Gubra is seeking a dedicated and experienced Department Manager to lead our newly modified Pharmaceutical Development department within our Biotech business unit. The ideal candidate will possess proven leadership abilities and a passion for managing and developing teams, along with a background in Pharmaceutical Sciences. The Pharmaceutical Development department plays an important role in supporting Gubra's peptide drug discovery projects with Analytical method development and analysis of physicochemical stability and solubility for peptide candidates in discovery and development; Formulation development for drug discovery preclinical studies; Support for formulation development for clinical trials.

Job Responsibility:

  • Daily management of a team of scientists and lab technicians to ensure high performance, personal development, well-being and engagement
  • Guide the team to accomplish department goals and objectives
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and analysis of experiments to support Gubra’s internal and partnered drug discovery projects
  • Engaging in collaborative interactions with other department managers and key internal stakeholders to ensure successful advancement of projects
  • Proactive lead in automatization and digitalization of processes within peptide physicochemical screening and striving for continuous optimization
  • Support to Vice President and Executive Management to implement and execute the company strategy

Requirements:

  • Leadership experience from the biotech/pharmaceutical industry
  • PhD or other equivalent experience within life sciences
  • Expertise in chemical and physical peptide characterization, analytical method development, pre-formulation and formulation development
  • Knowledge of data to support outsourced Drug substance and Drug product production
  • Proven involvement in drug discovery projects, demonstrating contributions across different phases
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Knowledge of laboratory automation and data management is beneficial
