Job Description:

The School of Social Sciences are looking to appoint a Senior Department Administrator. The School Senior Administrator is a key operational role in the school. Operating as part of the interdepartmental School Operations Team and reporting into the Deputy School Operations Manager.

Job Responsibility:

  • Engage in communities of practice to achieve continuous business improvement and standardisation
  • Work in collaboration with colleagues in the faculty and the wider University
  • Be responsible for the line management of a small team of colleagues in the school department support team
  • Support the Deputy School Operations Manager and School Operations Manager to deliver key operations activities across the school and within departments
  • Ensure efficient and effective support, advice and guidance is provided to all stakeholders
  • Undertake projects and champion activities on behalf of the school

Requirements:

  • Significant experience of providing excellent administrative support
  • Experience of line management of a PS team
  • Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrable and successful track record of independent and collaborative problem solving
  • Ability to foster a culture of teamwork
  • Ability to support and develop continuous improvement to process and performance
