Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Deli Assistant to take ownership of our deli counter and help deliver exceptional food experiences for Compass Group Ireland on a full-time basis, contracted to 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Job Responsibility

  • Taking full ownership of the deli counter, ensuring consistently high standards across food quality, presentation, and service
  • Preparing, reheating, holding, and presenting high-quality food daily in line with Compass Group standards
  • Overall responsibility for food safety, hygiene, quality, presentation, and client satisfaction
  • Managing stock levels, ordering, rotation, and waste minimisation
  • Leading by example, supporting, guiding, and assisting the other onsite team member to maintain standards
  • Providing friendly, efficient, and professional service to customers
  • Representing Compass Group Ireland positively and maintaining a strong brand image
  • Ensuring full compliance with Food Handling, Hygiene, and HACCP standards
  • Complying with all Health & Safety regulations and reporting any risks or incidents

Requirements

  • Proven experience working on a busy deli, food counter, or similar food service environment
  • Be confident taking responsibility and working independently, while supporting others where needed
  • Be a strong communicator, building positive relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Take pride in food quality, presentation, and safe handling practices, rather than complex culinary cooking
  • Take initiative and make decisions that enhance the customer experience and maintain standards
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure
