Job Description

We’re recruiting for a Senior Delegated Solutions Manager to join our Delegated Solutions team, partnering with UK pension schemes and insurance clients to design, implement and manage tailored multi-asset investment strategies aligned to their long-term funding objectives. Leveraging the full breadth of L&G Asset Management's capabilities, the team delivers sophisticated, outcome-driven solutions underpinned by deep expertise in portfolio construction, risk management and asset/liability modelling. Combining strategic insight with efficient implementation, the team integrates a wide range of asset classes, including index, multi-asset, fixed income, LDI, real assets and derivatives, into bespoke portfolios that reflect each client’s unique risk profile and constraints. Through ongoing client engagement, performance monitoring and customised reporting, the team provides a holistic, end-to-end service across defined benefit, defined contribution and insurance solutions.

Job Responsibility

  • Providing investment advice to DB pension scheme trustees, working closely with clients to understand requirements and deliver innovative solutions
  • Conducting bespoke investment strategy analysis and risk modelling, including long-term strategy, journey planning and dynamic de-risking trigger design
  • Designing and constructing portfolios, delivering detailed, scheme-specific reporting and analysis to support decision-making on investment strategy, risk and asset allocation
  • Collaborating with clients and internal teams to agree and implement mandate investment guidelines
  • Delivering bespoke client reporting and scheme management information in partnership with internal stakeholders
  • Owning and overseeing multi-asset mandates for DB pension schemes, managing performance against liability-driven benchmarks and delegating to specialist teams across L&G Asset Management to leverage broader capabilities
  • Embedding L&G Asset Management's cultural values and behaviours, promoting a 'One L&G' culture and contributing to a high-performing, collaborative environment
  • Supporting a strong risk and conduct culture, maintaining awareness of Consumer Duty requirements and ensuring the delivery of positive client and customer outcomes

Requirements

  • Understanding of defined benefit pension scheme investment environment, including typical risks and objectives, and experience of trustee decision-making processes
  • Good knowledge and understanding of all major asset classes
  • Understanding of derivatives & LDI
  • Experience of working with pension scheme trustees in a consultancy/advisory context
  • Interaction with clients on complex investment/risk concepts
  • Experience of setting investment strategy and carrying out portfolio construction in a multi-asset framework
  • Asset-liability modelling experience

Nice to have

  • Experience of providing fiduciary management services to UK DB pension schemes desirable
  • Hands-on multi-asset and/or LDI investment management experience desirable
