Job Description

We are seeking a proactive, organised, and delivery driven Building Services Project Manager to join our growing Sustainability and Decarbonisation team. This role is central to managing the planning, coordination, and execution of building services projects, primarily mechanical and electrical, within the education sector on a national scale. You will oversee project lifecycles from early design through to completion, ensuring alignment with programme goals, budgets, and quality standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage the full lifecycle of building services projects, ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, and client objectives
  • Work closely with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and clients to maintain alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverables
  • Monitor project schedules, financial performance, and resource allocation to ensure efficient delivery
  • Collaborate with design managers to embed sustainable, future‑proof solutions into building services strategies
  • Provide informed guidance and decision‑making support throughout design, procurement, and delivery phases
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, resolve issues, and uphold quality and safety standards

Requirements

  • A degree in engineering or a related discipline
  • professional certifications are beneficial
  • Proven experience managing building services projects, ideally with exposure to the education or retail sectors
  • Strong understanding of JCT Contracts and project governance frameworks
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems from concept through implementation

  • Carry out calculations using proprietary software, and understand various installation and reference methods used in calculations
  • Prepare design models, utilising proprietary design software, such as AutoCAD and REVIT

  • Prepare calculations and engineering analysis for the purpose of validating simulation models, confirming systems design requirements and performances
