Job Description:

A respected commercial law firm based in London is seeking a Senior Debt Recovery Lawyer to lead and grow its established debt recovery function. The role includes handling a varied caseload of complex and high-volume matters, acting for both commercial and public sector clients, and providing leadership to a team. You will also contribute to internal process development and business growth while managing client relationships and high-quality work.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead a team of fee earners and paralegals
  • provide technical supervision and mentoring
  • handle portfolio of work including pre-legal recoveries, litigation, enforcement proceedings and insolvency-related actions
  • develop internal processes and contribute to business development

Requirements:

  • 8+ years’ PQE in debt recovery, civil litigation, or enforcement
  • strong leadership background – having built, managed, or mentored a team in a law firm setting
  • experience with complex, high-volume debt recovery, ideally across both commercial and public sector portfolios
  • confident handling enforcement actions, insolvency proceedings and pre-legal collections
  • excellent client relationship and file management skills
  • currently working at Senior Associate, Legal Director or Partner level
