Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize IBM DB2 database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in DB2 database administration, licensing (Passport Advantage), and AIX/Linux platforms, along with scripting skills to support automation and system efficiency.

Job Responsibility:

  • Install, configure, and maintain IBM DB2 databases across AIX/Unix/Linux environments
  • Manage DB2 licensing and compliance (Passport Advantage)
  • Monitor database performance and perform tuning and optimization
  • Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database and system issues
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation and maintenance tasks
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and high availability of database systems
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to support database requirements
  • Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching activities
  • Document processes, configurations, and standard operating procedures

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience with IBM DB2 databases
  • Strong knowledge of DB2 licensing and Passport Advantage
  • Experience working on AIX/Unix/Linux platforms
  • Hands-on experience with shell scripting (Bash/Korn)
  • Strong understanding of database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting

Nice to have:

  • Experience with DB2 on AIX environments
  • Familiarity with enterprise database environments and high-availability setups
  • Experience supporting production systems in large-scale environments
