Job Responsibility:

  • Improve and maintain database environments with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability
  • Act as a bridge between Architecture, Development, and Data Science teams on database topics
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve performance issues end-to-end (from triage to production validation)
  • Optimize high-load MySQL systems (50k+ QPS) and ensure readiness for data growth
  • Review and improve database schemas, queries, and application database changes before release
  • Support database design and evolution together with engineering teams
  • Improve monitoring, tooling, and processes to detect issues early (performance, security)
  • Ensure database security best practices and compliance standards
  • Contribute to incident management and help meet SLOs with Platform Reliability teams
  • Maintain clear and up-to-date database documentation

Requirements:

  • Strong experience with relational databases in high-load, production systems
  • Solid understanding of SQL, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning
  • Experience with replication, backup, and recovery concepts in SQL databases
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar relational database systems
  • Strong Linux administration skills
  • Experience with schema design and database troubleshooting
  • Ability to proactively detect and solve performance issues
  • Understanding of database security best practices
  • B2 level of English, both written and spoken
