Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Database Administrator to join a highly capable team, driving the management, optimization, and security of enterprise-level databases. This role is perfect for an individual contributor who thrives on cross-department collaboration, diligent database stewardship, and guiding development teams to align with data best practices.

Job Responsibility:

Database Maintenance & Optimization: Manage SQL databases, backups, patching, disaster recovery, and performance tuning while adhering to organizational standards for data security and governance
Query Development: Write and optimize efficient T-SQL queries and ETL processes for evolving business needs
Collaboration with Developers: Guide development teams by improving SQL code health, addressing inefficiencies, and providing advisory support on data usage and integration
Cloud Integration: Assist in initiatives for cloud database migration and infrastructure design (Azure or AWS preferred)
Analytics Support: Contribute expertise in PowerBI to support dashboard deployment and ongoing analytics requests
Project Leadership: Spearhead key initiatives related to data architecture, classification, and retention strategies

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise-level database management
Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, including Enterprise Edition and database recovery strategies
Hands-on experience with cloud solutions, particularly Azure, and familiarity with migration processes
Strong understanding of database design principles, optimization techniques, and performance tuning
Expertise in tools such as PowerBI, Git, PowerShell, and PostgreSQL
Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work across diverse teams
Certifications or proven experience in Agile environments and cloud infrastructure
Ability to manage production moves during non-standard work hours, ensuring reliability and minimal downtime

Nice to have:

Hands-on expertise with cloud solutions and automation
Certifications or experience with Azure or AWS cloud infrastructure and migration strategies
