The challenge awaits you - to serve >40 million customers with >2 billion offers in <100ms search response time. The position is available in full or part-time.

Job Responsibility

  • Work as an interface between Product Management, Engineers and Analysts in a cross-functional team to improve idealo’s customer experience through data-driven decision making
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities, always with a strong focus on business impact and customer value
  • Define and refine problem statements together with Product and stakeholders, translating business needs into clear analytical questions and hypotheses
  • Design, run and analyze experiments (e.g. A/B tests) to evaluate product changes and guide decision-making based on causal inference
  • Drive solution design and impact assessments collaboratively with the team, ensuring that insights lead to actionable outcomes
  • Build dashboards, define KPIs, and monitor performance to make success measurable and transparent
  • Proactively identify opportunities where data can unlock value, as well as gaps where additional data or tracking is needed

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist (or similar role) with a track record of delivering measurable business impact
  • A degree (Ph.D., M.Sc. or equivalent) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics or a related discipline
  • Strong experience in experimentation and A/B testing, including hypothesis design, statistical evaluation, and interpretation of causal effects
  • A product-oriented mindset and enjoy working closely with Product Managers and Engineers to solve real business problems
  • Enjoy independently and systematically digging into complex data and analytical tasks
  • Ability to set your own goals and produce quantitative results in a goal-oriented manner, which you can present in a comprehensible way
  • Proficient in SQL and Python (e.g. pandas, NumPy, scipy)
  • Can communicate findings through clear visualizations and storytelling
  • Strong analytical thinking and comfortable working with complex datasets to generate actionable insights
