Job Description:

Because of their immense growth in their Data Architecture portfolio, an exciting opportunity has come up in one of their offices in Sydney. You will be joining their elite team and playing a lead role in providing the specialist skills needed to drive the maturity of their next generation data platform on hybrid cloud (AWS and GCP). They are urgently looking for data modelers to provide critical support to their Data Enablement portfolio and provide a robust data modelling structure in their growing team. Experience working in a cloud (AWS and GCP) is essential for this role.

Job Responsibility:

  • Liaise closely with the Information Architect team to ensure delivery is in accordance with the agreed architecture, High Level Solution Designs and Information Strategy
  • Liaise with the Operations teams very early to ensure aspects of quality, performance and stability are considered before a solution is designed
  • Deliver high quality design in alignment with information and Analytics & BI architecture
  • Provide technical design services which may include dimensional modelling, staging areas, Business Access Layers, semantic layer design and ETL design
  • Work closely with Data Engineers and other stakeholders in the data domain to produce a robust data modeling solutions

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience working in Financial services organizations like banks or insurances
  • 5+ years of data modelling experience in enterprise environments (working in businesses using cloud either GCP/AWS would be beneficial)
  • In-depth knowledge of data warehousing and experience working with data engineers is essential for this role
  • Experience in building data products on data mesh concepts (highly preferred)
  • Understanding of data modeling principles across conceptual, logical and physical data models
  • Experience in different data modeling techniques and design patterns like 3nf, Data Vault, kimball etc
  • Experience in using various data modelling tools: Erwin, ER/Studio, Sparx etc
  • Experience leading discussions and presentations

Nice to have:

  • Experience in building data products on data mesh concepts (highly preferred)
  • Experience driving decisions across groups of stakeholders
  • Experience working in businesses using cloud either GCP/AWS would be beneficial
