Job Description

The Collecting Group (TCG) isn't your average company; we're a team of culture curators who live and breathe cars and watches. We're not just disrupting the auction industry, we're redefining it. Our brands, Collecting Cars and Watch Collecting, are already leading the pack, but we're just getting started. We're seeking a Senior Data Analyst to drive data-driven insights and shape product strategy. As a Senior Data Analyst at The Collecting Group, you will be at the forefront of unlocking data-driven insights that shape product strategy, operational efficiency, and commercial performance. Sitting at the intersection of product, growth, and executive decision-making, you’ll combine rigorous analysis with strategic thinking to influence the future of our platform. You will go beyond dashboards: building models, running experiments, and helping us scale insight-driven decision making across Collecting Cars, Watch Collecting, and eventually, Collecting.com. You’ll also act as a translator between raw data and commercial impact, making complex findings digestible and actionable for business and leadership stakeholders.

Job Responsibility

  • Drive the data and analytics function, overseeing strategic priorities, workflow management, and team mentorship to guarantee the delivery of rigorous, timely, and impactful analytical output
  • Construct scalable analytical frameworks using SQL and Python to provide continuous, data-driven monitoring of marketplace dynamics, product performance, and user behaviour
  • Act as a key strategic thought partner for Product, Tech, Ops, and Marketing, delivering data-driven clarity on performance and providing clear recommendations for future experiments
  • Distill complex, raw data into concise, commercially-focused narratives and insights for presentation to the Board of Directors and senior leadership
  • Create and implement a range of AI/ML methodologies (including LLMs, RAG, clustering, and regression) to create intelligent internal tools and uncover new opportunities for commercial growth
  • Develop of advanced forecasting and modelling techniques to inform pricing structures, accelerate auction velocity, and guide the product development roadmap
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of A/B testing and experimentation, from initial design and implementation to final analysis, with results directly shaping the product roadmap and go-to-market strategy
  • Execute proactive trend and impact analyses on key business metrics to identify underlying performance drivers, detect market inflection points, and inform strategic priorities
  • Identify and automated key inefficient processes within the auction lifecycle, leading to measurable improvements in operational speed, scalability, and accuracy
  • Serve as the primary analytical liaison to the Executive Team, championing a data-first culture and embedding the "voice of the data" into core strategic decision-making

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in analytical roles, with a strong bias towards product analytics, growth, or marketplace environments
  • Demonstrable experience leading an analytics function or team, including hiring, mentoring, and workflow prioritisation
  • Expert SQL and Python skills, including production-grade pipelines, scripting, and automation
  • Comfortable using BI tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, or Lightdash, and running analysis in statistical packages
  • 2+ years of hands on experience working with LLMs and AI-powered tools to support insight generation, automation, and experimentation in a professional environment
  • Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders with data storytelling and commercial acumen
  • Deep understanding of marketplace KPIs: CAC, LTV, take-rate, sale rate, funnel conversion, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to make complex ideas easy to grasp
  • A growth mindset: low ego, high curiosity, and an instinct to ask better questions, not just pull data
  • Full UK working rights (unable to provide sponsorship for this position)

What we offer

  • 25 days holiday (plus an additional day each year after 2 years tenure)
  • Private medical insurance for you and your family with Vitality
  • Company pension contribution
