We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to work as part of a team responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing robust data pipelines that process high-volume manufacturing data, ensuring that data remains reliable, accurate, and readily available.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the technical design and implementation of a scalable, cost-efficient data platform for Machine Learning and analytics use cases, using both batch and streaming approaches
Build, deploy, and maintain reliable ETL/ELT pipelines for processing large-scale, high-velocity data from various industrial sources such as IoT sensors and manufacturing execution systems
Design and implement both logical and physical data models for the data warehouse
Define and enforce standards for data quality and governance across all pipelines
Assess and select suitable data technologies and tools to meet business and technical requirements, including components from the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem
Requirements:
7+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, with a strong track record in building and operating data platforms and pipelines in cloud environments
Extensive practical experience designing and implementing scalable data processing workflows
Mandatory professional experience with Azure Databricks, including Delta tables, Lakebase, and Lakehouse architectures
Solid experience with modern streaming tools such as Kafka and MQTT for real-time data ingestion
Strong familiarity and professional experience with Microsoft Azure data services, such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Factory
Strong expertise in data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance principles
Proven ability to design data platforms that support both large-scale analytics and Machine Learning workloads
Excellent communication skills
Extensive experience working in international, cross-functional teams
English level – Upper-Intermediate or higher

Experience working with industrial or manufacturing data sources
German language skills
