The Data Engineer will design, implement, and maintain data pipelines in Google Cloud Platform. The role is accountable to work closely with Product Owner to understand business needs and objectives as well as with BI Engineers to ensure the smooth data feed from various sources to GCP and afterwards to internal clients.
Job Responsibility:
Work closely with Product Owner, Solution Architect and Engineers to develop new flows and migrate the existing on premises infrastructure to GCP.
Review appropriate architecture and other technical solutions and make recommendations to Business.
Review requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendation documents with clear project deliverables and timelines to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Promote cooperation and commitment within the team to achieve goals and deliverables.
Own the creation & implementation of the deployment kit and respective documentation.
Requirements:
At least 4-5 years of experience in a similar position, designing and developing infrastructure for large/medium scale migration projects to GCP or other cloud platforms (i.e. Azure, AWS).
Hands on experience in migrating on-premises pipelines to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using tools such as BigQuery, Dataform, Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow), Google Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run.
Proficiency in Python will be highly desirable.
Solid experience with large-scale production databases and SQL scripting, including cost monitoring and performance tuning.
Good understanding of data warehouse concepts and architectures will be considered as an asset
Experience in ETL development (data extractions, loading, aggregation, transformation) using tools like Dataform, dbt or similar.
Experience participating in enterprise transformation projects or migrations from legacy systems will be highly appreciated.
Nice to have:
Familiarity with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker
Experience with IaaC (e.g. Terraform)
Experience with Oracle Databases and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI)
Experience working in agile environments
