An opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer has arisen within Airbus Helicopters (Albacete, Spain). You will join the Data & Analytics team. In this role, you will act as a Developer within an Agile Release Train. You will be responsible for building high-performance data products and applications that bridge our industrial core (SAP BW) with our advanced big data ecosystem (Palantir Foundry). You will play a critical role in the digital continuity of the world’s leading helicopter manufacturer.
Job Responsibility:
Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies (PI Planning, System Demos, Sprint Retrospectives)
Collaborate within a cross-functional Agile Team to deliver 'Definition of Done' increments
Design and develop complex data models within SAP BW (on HANA / BW/4HANA)
Manage back-end extractions (ABAP, CDS views), transformation logic, and optimize queries for large-scale industrial datasets
Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines in Palantir Foundry
Utilize PySpark and SQL to transform raw data into a structured 'Ontology' that powers operational decision-making
Ensure seamless data flow between the SAP landscape and the Palantir environment, maintaining high standards of data integrity and latency
Apply DevOps and DataOps principles
Perform peer code reviews, automated testing, and maintain technical documentation to ensure long-term maintainability of the data platform
Contribute to the 'Enabler' stories to improve the architectural runway of the Data & Analytics platform
Requirements:
5 to 10 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, specifically focused on SAP BI and Palantir Foundry
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Extensive hands-on experience with SAP BW
Proficiency in ABAP for ETL, HANA Calculation Views and AMDP script
Proven track record of developing in Foundry (Data Connection, Code Repos, Pipeline Builder, Workshop)
Advanced proficiency in Python (PySpark) and SQL
Strong understanding of Agile and SCRUM methodologies
Ability to thrive in a collaborative Agile team environment
Analytical mindset capable of troubleshooting complex data discrepancies across hybrid systems
Fluent in English (daily working language)
Spanish is a significant advantage for local site integration
