Job Description:

An opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer has arisen within Airbus Helicopters (Albacete, Spain). You will join the Data & Analytics team. In this role, you will act as a Developer within an Agile Release Train. You will be responsible for building high-performance data products and applications that bridge our industrial core (SAP BW) with our advanced big data ecosystem (Palantir Foundry). You will play a critical role in the digital continuity of the world’s leading helicopter manufacturer.

Job Responsibility:

  • Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies (PI Planning, System Demos, Sprint Retrospectives)
  • Collaborate within a cross-functional Agile Team to deliver 'Definition of Done' increments
  • Design and develop complex data models within SAP BW (on HANA / BW/4HANA)
  • Manage back-end extractions (ABAP, CDS views), transformation logic, and optimize queries for large-scale industrial datasets
  • Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines in Palantir Foundry
  • Utilize PySpark and SQL to transform raw data into a structured 'Ontology' that powers operational decision-making
  • Ensure seamless data flow between the SAP landscape and the Palantir environment, maintaining high standards of data integrity and latency
  • Apply DevOps and DataOps principles
  • Perform peer code reviews, automated testing, and maintain technical documentation to ensure long-term maintainability of the data platform
  • Contribute to the 'Enabler' stories to improve the architectural runway of the Data & Analytics platform

Requirements:

  • 5 to 10 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, specifically focused on SAP BI and Palantir Foundry
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Extensive hands-on experience with SAP BW
  • Proficiency in ABAP for ETL, HANA Calculation Views and AMDP script
  • Proven track record of developing in Foundry (Data Connection, Code Repos, Pipeline Builder, Workshop)
  • Advanced proficiency in Python (PySpark) and SQL
  • Strong understanding of Agile and SCRUM methodologies
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative Agile team environment
  • Analytical mindset capable of troubleshooting complex data discrepancies across hybrid systems
  • Fluent in English (daily working language)
  • Spanish is a significant advantage for local site integration
