Job Description:

As a Senior Data Analyst you will design, build, and standardise high‑quality data models and visualisations that drive decision‑making across Prospa. You will own the Power BI semantic layer, translate information models into efficient visualisations, and collaborate with business stakeholders to convert problems into actionable insights. You will champion data literacy as a data ambassador and continuously improve our analytics tool stack in Azure.

Job Responsibility:

  • Collaborate with product, finance, and business teams to define requirements and deliver BI solutions aligned with strategic goals
  • Lead in-depth analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, present insights through clear visualisations
  • Own and optimise the Power BI environment, including modelling, performance, and governance
  • Run workshops to clarify business problems, develop hypotheses, and recommend actions
  • Build data models, write advanced SQL, and apply statistical techniques for decision support
  • Define and enforce standards for visualisation, DAX, and modelling
  • document best practices
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Power BI performance, connectivity, and refresh schedules
  • Partner with Data Engineering, Product, and Finance to ensure consistent, business-ready data
  • Promote data literacy and informed decision-making across the organisation
  • Ensure BI solutions comply with governance, security, and privacy standards
  • Contribute to backlog grooming, sprint planning, and provide technical guidance

Requirements:

  • Proficiency with Power BI (DAX, Power Query/M, semantic modelling, performance optimisation)
  • Strong SQL and experience with analytics in Azure (e.g., Databricks or Snowflake)
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with business stakeholders and product teams to deliver impactful insights
  • Deep understanding of data modelling principles and statistical analysis (A/B testing, regression, tree models)
  • Ability to translate information models, data dictionaries, and KPIs into efficient, intuitive visualisations
  • Workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast‑moving environment, curiosity and continuous improvement mindset

Nice to have:

  • Experience with dbt, Airflow, Python or R for data transformations and testing is highly desirable
  • Experience working with Power BI Copilot and other AI tools to enhance analytics and reporting capabilities is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of Power BI governance at scale (workspaces, deployment pipelines, RLS, usage analytics)
  • Familiarity with Databricks and PySpark
  • Exposure to unit/integration testing of BI artefacts and data contracts
