Job Description:

Senior Data Analyst role within HSBC's MSS Transformation global team, responsible for delivering end-to-end change initiatives across Markets and Securities Services business line. The role involves providing technical and strategic tooling solutions to support global CTB initiatives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting the data governance and tooling team
  • Developing and monitoring improved data metrics & data visualization
  • Collaborating with global MSS business sponsors and functional leads
  • Support group tooling advances and enabling MSS portfolio transformations
  • Supporting Generative AI modelling in portfolio management area
  • Unblock critical issues and arbitrate data discrepancies
  • Creating optimized models, applications and reports
  • Analyzing and estimating new/change tooling requirements
  • Operating in agile sprint delivery cycle
  • Effectively managing stakeholder expectations
  • Working with cross functional teams
  • Managing appropriate governance and cadence
  • Ensuring collation and dissemination of information is effective

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8-10 years' experience as a data practitioner (in an analyst, engineering, architect, or similar capacity)
  • 8-10 years' experience working with object-oriented programming languages (Python preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge of Pandas (or Polars/PySpark) & coding fundamentals in Python
  • Very good experience with data pipeline creation & management (Python &/or SQL preferred)
  • 8-10 Years' experience translating business requirements into compelling dashboards & visualisations (Qlik or PowerBI preferred)
  • Minimum 8-10 years' experience across the Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • advanced Excel (for data) knowledge is expected
  • Experience delivering as part of an Agile team working in Sprints
  • Experience using LLMs to augment existing processes
  • Evidenced ability to collaborate & negotiate in large cross-matrix organisations
  • Evidence of strong communication and influencing skills
  • Problem solving skills / driving continuous improvements
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • Working knowledge of PPM tools (Clarity, JIRA, Rally)
  • An understanding of the banking & capital markets regulatory environment
