As a Senior Counsellor in our EAP team, you’ll play a dual role of providing clinical expertise and leading a dedicated team of 8–10 counsellors. You’ll ensure the highest standard of care for clients while promoting the continuous development and well-being of your team. You’ll deliver a confidential, 24/7 support service across various channels—telephone, virtual, and face-to-face—covering issues like depression, anxiety, stress, debt advice, and family matters. Your leadership will foster a culture of empathy, resilience, and clinical excellence.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and manage a team of 8–10 counsellors through regular supervision, performance reviews, and well-being check-ins
Deliver one-on-one clinical and peer supervision alongside case management
Carry a small caseload of clients, providing specialized interventions and support
Collaborate with Senior Managers to ensure adherence to TERC’s values and clinical standards
Organise induction training, ongoing development, and performance evaluations for new and existing team members
Support the continuous professional development (CPD) of your team through workshops and training sessions
Conduct risk assessments, develop risk management plans, and manage complex clinical cases with sensitivity and professionalism
Be part of the clinical on-call rota, ensuring comprehensive support is available when needed
Contribute to service development through innovative clinical practices and process improvements
Deliver post-incident support and interventions for staff following traumatic events
Requirements:
Professional Registration
Degree or equivalent experience in a health-related field
Significant experience in managing and leading a counselling or clinical team
Expertise in short-term, solution-focused interventions
Strong skills in clinical decision-making, conflict resolution, and managing immediate client risk
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and report-writing abilities
Ability to motivate, develop, and nurture both individuals and teams
A deep commitment to safeguarding, equality, and diversity in practice

Nice to have:
