We are looking for an experienced In House Counsel to join our team in Itasca, Illinois. Job Responsibility

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to equipment loans, leases, and vendor programs
  • Provide expert legal advice on supplier management and third-party risk mitigation strategies
  • Monitor and interpret federal and state regulations to ensure compliance with commercial finance laws
  • Offer legal support for employment law matters, intellectual property issues, dispute resolution, and compliance initiatives
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel to oversee transactions and manage litigation
  • Partner with internal business units to align legal risk management with organizational objectives
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and data privacy laws impacting commercial lending
  • Facilitate the implementation of legal technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency
  • Occasionally travel for seminars, site visits, and other specialized engagements as required

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the Illinois bar or eligibility for an in-house counsel license
  • A minimum of 5–8 years of experience in commercial finance, including equipment leasing and lending
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating complex contracts and agreements
  • Solid understanding of federal and Illinois state laws related to commercial finance
  • Familiarity with legal technology tools and a commitment to ongoing improvement
  • Strong skills in managing credit risk and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Ability to collaborate across various business units and build effective partnerships
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for development and business needs
