As part of their strategic plan to further penetrate the market, they are seeking a Senior Costing Engineer to join their Selangor-based (Shah Alam) operations and establish a dedicated team to support this expansion.
Job Responsibility:
Process Excellence: Demonstrate mastery in standard costing methodologies to set accurate product target prices and tooling investments
BOM Integrity: Critically assess Bill of Materials (BOM) data and validate all underlying technical assumptions
Cost Estimation: Calculate precise unit and tooling costs for new project quotations across various commodities
Technical Sourcing Support: Lead cost evaluations during the procurement phase for specialized processes like die casting, injection molding, and stamping
Strategic Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional departments and teammates to drive the achievement of target prices and evaluate VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) initiatives
Supplier Analysis: Audit supplier cost breakdowns and quotations to perform gap analysis and ensure financial alignment
Change Management: Manage the financial impact of Engineering Change Notices (ECN) through rigorous cost walk and variance reporting
Performance-Driven: Thrive in high-pressure environments while consistently meeting critical project deadlines.
Requirements:
Minimum a degree in Finance, Purchasing, Engineering, or a related field
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience within the Automotive, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanism Design sectors
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret Bill of Materials (BOM) and apply technical costing knowledge
Proven experience in stamping, metal processes, injection molding, or tooling design is required
candidates with this technical background who are highly motivated to transition into a career in costing are preferred
Eng communication skills required, including the ability to read and write fluently, and extensive experience engaging with the China market
Proven ability to thrive under pressure and meet strict deadlines while maintaining flexible working hours to align with the dynamic market changes of China OEMs.
