Reporting to the Finance Manager – Operations, the Sr. Costing Analyst provides financial leadership, support and analysis to the finance and plant management teams. The role requires that the incumbent work closely with plant management to identify opportunities to improve results and controls within the plant. This position is responsible for executing standard control processes on assets and ensure accuracy of all plant financial reporting.
Job Responsibility:

Ensure all company financial policies and procedures are adhered to
Provide accurate cost reporting and analysis to the plant management team
Investigate variances, analyze production data, and provide explanations to management
Lead period-end financial activities, ensure adherence to tight month-end schedule, prepare closing journal entries and complete account reconciliations
Interpret financial results
Identify, recommend, and support cost improvement opportunities
Calculate and update product costs, including Standard Costing updates
Perform periodic analysis of overhead spending and provide management with the information required to make future spending decisions
Support the budget process for hog facilities, work with functional managers to ensure budget submission is complete, accurate and on time
On site responsibility to ensure accounting procedures adhere to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and approved corporate policies
Lead annual internal and external audit reviews for Hog Operations
Provide guidance and coaching to non-finance managers regarding issues of financial control and compliance
Support Hog Production Management with regular inventory cycle count review and perform re-counts and random verification checking when required / applicable
Requirements:
Post-Secondary Education in Accounting or Business required
Accounting Designation is preferred or actively working towards CPA
Must have excellent systems skills, analytical skills and be proficient Excel

Excellent planning and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial functions
