Job Description

A leading global construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager to join their North London team. The Senior Cost Manager will play a key role in delivering professional cost management services across a portfolio of complex commercial, data centre, infrastructure and mixed-use developments. This Senior Cost Manager position will involve managing key cost management responsibilities throughout the full project lifecycle, supporting project teams while maintaining strong commercial oversight. The Senior Cost Manager will work closely with project managers, design teams and clients, ensuring robust cost control and consistent cost management standards across multiple schemes.

Job Responsibility

  • Preparing and reviewing detailed cost plans and project budgets
  • Managing tender documentation and procurement strategies
  • Leading subcontractor procurement and commercial negotiations
  • Monitoring valuations, variations and change management
  • Supporting risk management and value engineering initiatives
  • Overseeing interim valuations and contributing to final accounts
  • Producing financial reports and advising clients on project costs

Requirements

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
  • Experience working as a Senior Cost Manager, Cost Manager or Quantity Surveyor within construction or consultancy
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (JCT preferred)
  • Experience supporting projects through the full project lifecycle
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
  • MRICS desirable or working towards chartership
